Zumba Class on July 20 is cancelled

Tuesday July 20 the Zumba class is cancelled. I encourrage every body to keep practicing the Zumba moves and come to the gym to work your butts out while I soak up the sun and drink some maragritas in Soult saint mary (don't feel to sorry for me!). I will see you all back Tuesday July 27.

Safety Tips for runners


Important Safety Tips for Runners and Walkers

Map Your Route in Advance
Tell someone where you are headed and when you plan to return. That way if something were to happen to you, someone would know where to look if you didn’t return.

Carry Identification
It is important to carry ID incase you are injured or rendered unconscious.
Whatever ID you choose, make sure it includes your name and emergency
contacts

Run Against the Flow of Traffic
Facing traffic allows you to see when cars are coming. It is better to see the traffic then risk not being seen by a driver. **Biking is a different story, always go with the flow of traffic when cycling.

Beware of Dogs
If you encounter a vicious dog, the best thing to do is stop running you will not be able to outrun it! Try backing up slowly and try to put something between you and the dog. If you can throw something, throw the object away from the dog so it will chase the stick and not you. As a last resort, drop to the ground and curl up in a ball, covering your face and head.

Wear Reflective Gear
Whether it be a hat, jacket, shirt or large button, reflective gear allows you to be more visible. Anytime you can become more visible allows for better safety.
